It is an open secret that the Golan is the ultimate Israeli paradise for sports tourism activities, and the reason for this lies in the uniqueness of the Golan, with an area of ​​1,250 square kilometers, a length of about 80 kilometers and a maximum width of 30 kilometers.

In this small region of land, several tourist “natural treasures” lie in close proximity – to the north is Mount Hermon, the highest point in Israel, the number one attraction for winter sports tourism, to the west is the Sea of ​​Galilee – a water sports center, and to the south are the descents of Route 98, a great route for road cyclists.

Within these attractive geographical boundaries is an inexhaustible reservoir of options for extreme sports activities, for various competitive sports, spectacular cycling and walking trails, chief among them the Golan Trail and the South Golan Promenade, a variety of 4X4 ​​trails, and the sky is the limit.

Over the past few years, the Golan has hosted competitions National cycling at the elite level (including the Israeli Time Trial Championship) and quite a few running events on a national and international scale, such as the Volcanoes Race and the Mount Hermon Climb.
